Minecraft Sugar Cane Not Growing. But i've noticed this for other crops. Sugar cane is a valuable plant for crafting rockets, making books for bookshelves, and trading paper.
Sugar cane is arguably the easiest crop to grow in minecraft but farming it is a whole different matter. Age 0 and 1, are just as likely to grow quickly as bases with age 4. I have like 12 now and it can take 10 minutes just to see one block grow out of all of them.
The cane corso should grow to between 24 and 27 inches for males, and 23 and 25 inches for females.
Other things like crops growing and even furnaces smelting only happen within a surprisingly short distance, like maybe 2 chunks, from the player. One row (8 pistons, 8 sugar cane) yields about 20 items/hr. However, you'll need to ensure that the block that you plant this crop on is adjacent to water. When placed near an adequate water source, and there is a high light level, sugar canes will grow.
